At our Picnic there was...

... lots of running.

... Grandma.

... Grandpa (and Sadie who is sitting on a rubbish bin against my wishes. "Her feet aren't touching anything!" my dad said).

... Mackenzie and lots of hopeful seagulls.

... Mackenzie and her mother.

... Naked boys.

... Sunhats.

(Doesn't she look just so little in this picture?)

After a fun afternoon and missing one train we were finally on our last leg home. Grandma and Austin are touching fingers through the train window. Cute.

When we got home Theo had had it. He fell asleep on the bus, I had to carry him up the hill with Austin in tow. I got home and laid him on his bed while I unpacked and such.

At the Park

While out at my parents place we went to a mothers group one morning where everyone brought toys and food. The digger was a hit with pretty much everyone.

This is in the car at the beginning of our trip home. First the playground, then a picnic, the beach, ice creams, train, bus and finally home.

I played at the park with the boys while Erika drove the girls and Mum/Grandma got lunch.

At The Beach

The day we were to come home, right before I got back on the train with the boys we met my dad for lunch. We played at the park, had a picnic, and played at the beach. Here are some photos of the boys at the beach.

Theo, dodging all the driftwood and shells as he walked out.

Lifting his pants so they wouldn't get wet.

Austin loves the water. Erika was playing, and also holding on so that he wouldn't run in.

Austin's reaction when a wave came in.

Catching the bus and train to Grandma's house

About a month ago my sister and I and our children went away to Grandma and Grandpa's house for a few days while our husbands were away. For the trip out there Erika drove the girls and the stuff and I caught the bus and the train with the boys. It was a gorgeous day. Grandpa picked us up at the other end.

Why we need a second high chair

Sadie practising sitting up.

Theo brought books to read to Sadie.

Theo has started climbing in to Sadie's cot with her, something that even the idea of used to scare me. But he's never been anything but careful and loving in this situation, and even though you wouldn't know it from the photos Sadie loves it too.

Sadie's got that gorgeous, wide, closed mouth, no teeth grin going on at the moment. I remember loving it with Theo and now I love it again with her. It's a hard one to capture but I finally got it.

An evening at home
